The team found themselves in the picturesque village of Brimscombe in the South Cotswolds, where they embarked on a project to transform the tired and worn-out softwood deck at the rear of a property. The deck was removed and replaced with the vastly improved Millboard decking system, resulting in a dramatic improvement in the space, whilst preserving the rustic feel of the garden.
To complement the new deck, a stylish pergola was installed in one corner, and some leftover cedar slats were repurposed to add an extra touch of elegance in the form of two bespoke slatted screens. The high-end Millboard composite decking was chosen for its low-maintenance properties, creating a new outdoor communal area that takes full advantage of the outstanding views across the valley.
The decking scheme included a raised circular platform, formed using the flexible Millboard edging strips. A clean yet traditional-looking bespoke hardwood handrail and wire balustrade system was installed along the front edge of the decking, with subtle lighting added throughout to create a soft evening ambiance in lower light.
In summary, the team transformed an old and worn-out deck into a beautiful and functional outdoor space, perfect for enjoying the stunning views of the South Cotswolds. The use of quality materials and attention to detail have ensured that this space will provide a low-maintenance and enjoyable area for years to come.
